Ingredients for Upcycled Jar:

Recycled glass jars (small mason, yogurt or jelly jars, etc.)
Jar lid (optional)
Googly eyes (any size)
Buttons, beads, etc.
Pipe cleaner (any color)
Any other at-home items of choice
Hot glue gun
Ingredients for Chia Seeds:
Soil
Hand shovel
Seeds (I chose chia seeds)
Pebbles
Spray bottle and water
Ingredient Notes:
This recipe uses chia seeds as the plant to grow but you can choose any plant or herb that will grow in a glass jar depending on the size of your jar.
Instructions for Upcycled Jar:
Decorate the jar to your liking. I hot-glued googly eyes, beads for noses and pip cleaner in the shape of eye brows and mouths. You can use whatever decorations you want! The sillier the better!
Instructions for Growing:
Add potting soil to the jar leaving about one inch from the top for seeds.
Sprinkle seeds over the top of the soil.
Spray the seeds using the spray bottle with water until the soil is damp. Put the mason jar lid on or cover the jar to keep the soil from drying out. Store in a cool dry place.
Continue to spray with water and storing.
When your chia seeds have started showing leaves, remove the cover, and transfer it to a bright spot with indirect sunlight. Keep the soil damp by continuing to sprinkle with water.
When the chia microgreens have grown, harvest them to serve.
